Course Description

For those of you who followed in the footsteps of Vincent van Gogh in our previous examination of late 19th and early 20th century art, this course picks up where Vincent left off. In Part I, our six classes focus on Cezanne, Pissarro, Seurat, and Toulouse-Lautrec… with one more look at Vincent van Gogh. Additionally, we will understand the influence of Japanese prints on the artists and how science and industrial developments influenced them. If you missed our Van Gogh class, no problem… you can start right in and come to understand the Beginnings of Modern Art.
