Course Description

Survival Spanish II is a conversational Spanish course designed for those who have taken the introductory Survival Spanish course, have a very basic working knowledge of Spanish, or who speak some Spanish but would like to improve their conversational skills.

The course begins with a review of the essential concepts taught in the first class – conjugation, ‘regular A-R’ verbs, the seven essential irregular verbs (ser, estar, querer, tener, hacer, ir, and poder), and the most basic principles of Spanish grammar. The first two classes will focus almost entirely on material covered in the first class. Much class time is devoted to engaging students in conversation.

About Your Instructor: Seth Worley

A long-time San Marcan, Seth began teaching Spanish after earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Art in 1979. For over 40 years, he has taught Spanish, not as a career, but because of his love for the language. As someone who learned Spanish as an adult, and with extensive experience in Latin America, Seth understands the unique challenges of language acquisition for adult learners.
