Course Description
This course provides an overview of major periods in the early history of Western Theatre, including key dramatic works. The six class sessions will cover:
Class 1—Origins/Classical Greece and Rome
Class 2—Medieval Theatre
Class 3—Renaissance Theatre: Italy
Class 4—Renaissance Theatre: England, Part I
Class 5—Renaissance Theatre in England, Part II, and Spain
Class 6—Key Plays
Presenter: Angela Latham
Angela is an author, artist, and educator. Her essays and performance texts have appeared in various scholarly and literary publications. She is also a practicing theatre artist who holds a doctorate in Theatre History.
