LifeLong Learning and Texas State University
Series on Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Understanding the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of AI
Since mid-August, LifeLong Learning-San Marcos has partnered with Texas State University to host a series of events focused on the ever-growing and life-changing field of artificial intelligence.
Dr. Kimberly Conner, Texas State’s Strategic Digital Lead, has led Zoom sessions on protecting our personal data, identifying misinformation and scams, using AI tools for personal enrichment, and the growing need for data centers to store, manage, and process all the data required to make AI work.
Even if you don’t use AI tools like Open AI’s ChatGPT or Google’s Gemini, you are using AI if you use a phone, tablet, or computer to engage with the internet. And the future will bring even deeper integration of AI into our daily lives.
We close our series with two in-person, free events on Monday, Nov. 3. First, join us at 4:15pm for a one-hour session featuring hands-on activities using AI with YOUR phone! Then at 5:30pm, Dr. Conner will give the final presentation: The Future of Artificial Intelligence and Us.
The American philosopher and social critic Eric Hoffer noted that in changing times, those who continue to learn are better equipped than those who rely on existing knowledge.
In that spirit – and recognizing the growing significance of artificial intelligence – come learn with us at our final two events at 4:15pm and 5:30pm on Monday, November 3, at the San Marcos Activity Center.
