History & Course Description

Table tennis, also known as ping-pong, emerged in Victorian England in the late 1800s as an after-dinner pastime for the upper classes. Players initially used household items like books for nets, corks for balls, and cigar box lids for rackets. The game's popularity grew, leading to the development of commercial equipment and the trademarking of the name "Ping-Pong" by J. Jaques & Son Ltd in 1901. Table tennis has been an Olympic sport since 1988.
