Course Description
In this five-week adult art course, participants will explore the connection between creativity and the self by engaging with the lives and techniques of five artists. Students will begin by translating senses through the lens of Wassily Kandinsky’s synesthesia, then grounding in the tactile, emotive sculpture of Willem de Kooning. Participants will explore Modigliani’s portraits and Claire Cowie’s expressive watercolors utilizing negative space. In the final week, the course focuses on Mary L. Proctor by creating a collage using found objects and recycled materials.
Supplies will be provided.
