Course Description

Simple things like understanding the characteristics of the pigments can be the difference in brilliance and mud. There are so many ways to create with this medium. Join us to learn new skills or brush up dormant ones.

 

​Supplies

Watercolor pigments (6 colors)
  • cadmium red
  • thalo or quinacridone red
  • ultramarine blue
  • thalo (phthalo) blue
  • cadmium yellow
  • cadmium light or lemon yellow
Brushes
  • one ¾-1” Flat (synthetic)
  • two round, medium, and other… your choice (synthetic or hair)

Round Pan Palette with at least 10 spaces
Paper
  • 11” x15” acid free watercolor paper pad; Strathmore 440-2 spiral bound recommended
  • if desired, a block of acid free watercolor paper
Two 1-pint water containers (e.g., yogurt containers)
Paper towels
 

Presenter: Jerry T. Kimmel

Jerry has shown her work in over one hundred juried and invitational shows throughout the U.S. and has been represented in many galleries throughout the Southwest. Her photographs and watercolor paintings are in many private collections, including Motorola and AT&T. Jerry is the photographer and her husband the author of The San Marcos: A River’s Story, published in 2006 by Texas A&M University press. Their current project with the press is The Brazos River of Texas and other projects focus on the Rio Grande and Pecos rivers.
